I just wrapped World Race training camp week! It was the absolute best week of my life. I went in with a lot of expectations and the Lord (as He always does ) completely blew my expectations out the water.  I opened up to receive all that he had for me.  I met and worshiped with amazing fellow Racers and my personal relationship with Him deepened.

Training camp was filled with amazing worship, lessons about the Holy Spirit and what it means to truly listen to Him. It also exposed a lot of challenges but nothing I couldn’t handle with Christ on my side. I met the squad that I will be doing life with on the Race. I can’t put into a single word what this week prevailed but I’m so excited to see what God has in store for all of us this next year.

These were few takeaways that stood out to me:  1) When you say Yes to God, 2) Staying faithful to His plan for your life and finally 3) Embrace the community God puts in your life.

When you say Yes to God…it shouldn’t be hard, but at times it is. For example, I initially saw this journey with the World Race as an opportunity to see the world and help others.  What I didn’t realize was how much I needed help.  I needed to learn to surrender my will and trust Christ… “Let go and let God”.  As you may know, I have to raise the funds for this experience and I am not comfortable asking for help, but God made it abundantly clear that I can’t do this on my own.

So, I’m asking for your partnership to pray for me, follow my journey by subscribing to my blog and financial support.  Currently, I have raised $6,195 and need to reach $10,000 by December 17th.  If God places it on your heart to contribute. Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far, it truly means the world to me.

  1. Wow Jamal! I love all the things Holy Spirit was showing you at training camp. It truly was an amazing time. Your words about surrender were powerful, “let go and let God”, is something we all should live by. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you! Love you!

  2. Jamall, I am beyond proud of you for following this path that God has put in front of you. I will continue to pray for you every day. I love you and I’m so blessed that GOD thought enough of me to let me watch you grown into this amazing young man. “To whom much is given, much is required!”
